Robert E. Monroe
Of Counsel Attorney
Bob Monroe is a native of Deposit, a small town in upstate New York. He received his B.S. in Industrial Distribution, which is a combination of engineering and business, from Clarkson University in 1971 and his J.D. from Ohio Northern University in 1974. Bob and his wife, Heather, looked south for a new home and found Raleigh. Bob first practiced with a small firm and concentrated in the areas of estate planning, business and tax law, although in the early years a general practice was essential. He has represented clients on a broad variety of matters including family law, bankruptcy law, criminal law, personal injury and civil litigation. Bob’s practice focuses on guardianship and estate administration, estate planning, wills, trusts, and advance directives. He is frequently asked by the Clerk of Superior Court to serve as the Administrator of a decedent’s estate or as the Guardian of the Estate of an incompetent individual. Bob also serves as a Court appointed Receiver for businesses and real estate projects that are in default.
Bob and Heather are pleased that both of their children have settled in Raleigh. They are the proud grandparents of four grandchildren, one of whom is deceased.
